Antonio Conte admits Chelsea ‘totally lost their style of football’ by having David Luiz in midfielder after the 3-3 draw with Roma on Wednesday.
The Premier League champions were two goals in front before Aleksandar Kolarov and Edin Dzeko pulled the visitors level at Stamford Bridge.
Dzeko then put Roma in front before Hazard scored his second goal of the game to earn a point for the hosts. With N’Golo Kante sidelined with a hamstring injury, David Luiz was forced to deputise in central midfield, but Conte admits shifting the Brazilian out of defence was a mistake.
‘I didn’t like the type of football we did for a lot of the game, but it’s right to take the responsibility for this,’ said the Chelsea manager. ‘I tried on one hand to protect my team, to become more solid and to move our central defender into midfield. On the other hand we lost totally our style of football.
